In Fall 1949, Pierre Balmain called his first perfume Jolie Madame - a name that soon became a Maison signature and a marker of new French style. Over the last 10 years, creative director Olivier Rousteing has put his spin on the phenomenon, the result being a distinctive tailoring technique characterised by powerful shoulders and a nipped waist. This blazer is a prime example, with its cropped silhouette leaning on the more feminine side and accent satin lapels that showcase intricate couture techniques.
