In 1901 Burberry ran a competition for a logo design for the label and the winner was the Equestrian Knight Design, based on medieval armour on display at the Wallace Collection. Under creative director Daniel Lee, the B Shield is borrowed from that signature to grace ready-to-wear as seen in the intarsia motif of these cotton-blend socks.
