Jil Sander has always taken inspiration from utilitarian clothing, borrowing from the unintial simplicity and elegance of functional design. The Curve bag, for example, nods to simplistic DIY bags of old, storing a drawstring-closure leather inner bag in a three-piece calfskin container. As is to be expected from the German House, the only branding is found in a tasteful embossing.
