Before revoluntionising the art of glassmaking, René Lalique invented nature-inspired jewellery worn and celebrated by the era's aesthetes, such as his friend, French actress Sarah Bernhardt, and poets Jean Lorrain and Robert de Montesquiou. The Noir Premier Plume Blanche 1901 eau de parfum is decorated with one of René Lalique's special illustrations which takes the form of a stylised peacock feather - a motif that often appears in his most spectacular brooches and pendants.
