Ruffles are a somewhat surprising element of Max Mara's Autumn/Winter 2024 collection. Although the Italian label isn't always one to shy away from overt embellishments, its choice of vivacious and feminine ruffling - seen here on the sleeves of the silk Manna shirt dress, for example - shows a direction headed into territory where fashion most certainly meets fun from the boardroom to the boardwalk.
