Following a successful year in 1991, the brand's employees banded together, gifting a young Ralph Lauren and his brother Jerry two stuffed bears dressed up in their signature looks. Ralph was so taken with the gift that vowed to start selling them to the public - and so the Polo Bear became an iconic and innate part of the Ralph Lauren brand.
