It was during an Italian sabbatical when Westwood realised her fascinations with royalty had to be channelled through her high-fashion gaze, leading to the opulent insignia fashion devotees have come to adore. Now, the Orb dangles from all its jewellery and is traditionally encrusted with pearls or crystals.
